I use the term “newbie” not because they are new bloggers, but because these are some new blogs that I have started following. You should check them out too.

sorry to disappoint

I know that yesterday I promised something “special” today. Well to be quite honest its not going to happen until later. I didn’t wake up early enough to make it happen this morning, so it will just have to wait until tomorrow. Hopefully. It should be a pretty neat idea, not that I’m claiming it as an original one at all. So until then I will have to write about something else. I hope, however, I have captivated you enough to at least stir curiosity in your beautiful, BEAUTIFUL mind.

Thursday is Valentine’s Day. So guys its time to make your dinner reservations. Buy your chocolates and flowers. Shave. Or….come to Married Life Live at RPC. What is this Married Life Live thing I speak of? I’m glad you asked. RidgePoint Church does this thing once a quarter where all the married and engaged couples come together to eat, laugh, listen to the awesome band play some cool music (I hear the guitar player is really sexy <can I say sexy in a blog? Oh well, I just did>) and learn how to do this whole marriage thing better. Honestly, its probably too late to come if you haven’t already bought your ticket, but who knows. There is always next quarter.

today in the news

Scientology strikes again!!! Well, not quite. There are now a group of anonymous protesters picketing the Church of Scientology. Do you know why? Not because of their beliefs, oh no. It is because the protesters believe that their rights for free speech are being taken away since the “Church” is taking down all the videos of Tom Cruise off the internet. Which leads me to my next topic. How did Tom get so important in today’s culture? I don’t know. This blows my mind. He is like a crazy pope. Maybe the ship will come pick him up soon. Who knows.

Lakeland is burning down. That wasn’t a good transition was it? But its true. Two stores in downtown Lakeland went up in a blaze yesterday. My mom called me telling me she saw smoke and wanted me to google what was going on. She over reacts sometimes, as most moms do (sorry mom, you’re the best 🙂 ) so I disregarded the phone call. Then a couple hours later I saw on the news that an art gallery and the army navy store had gone up in flames. WOW. I remember in high school I would go look at knives and guns at that place. Now its no more.

I think thats it. Check back tomorrow for something special. I’m going to try something new.

This is me officially logging off for the weekend. I am going to try to live technology free for a whole two day, except for maybe some Guitar Hero. I think tomorrow I am going to lounge around the house in my underwear, not brush my hair, catch up on some much needed family time, and just all around be a bum. Aren’t you jealous? You know what? I think I’ll do the same thing on Sunday as well (right after the whole church thing that is). So just sit back, read someone else’s blog (not that you read mine that much) and wait until I return on Monday. Hopefully I’ll be mentally refreshed and actually writing about something decent then. So for now I bid you farewell, adieu, until next time, konichiwa, adios, and all those other trite sayings.

So I’m pretty sure I have the best looking family around.  Enough said.

so this is my laundry face

•February 8, 2008 • 1 Comment

I hate laundry…and that is what I’m doing at 9:21 on Thursday night. I’m sure there is some good t.v. on right now too. This place makes me nausious, not to mention it smells like a bar in here because some old guy just came in smoking his cigarette while getting his stuff out of the dryer. Oh the joys of an apartment community laundromat. To go along with the smell, the walls are painted bright, pasty orange.

This is what I imagine a baby’s diaper would look like after eating Gerber’s baby food carrot goo. Can I do laundry at your house next time?

ouch, that fire stuff is hot

I thought I’d write this post in red, just to get the flame thing across. So we went back on my lunch break to walk through our potential new home again. If this whole thing works out than this is going to be the deal of our lifetime. We took our contractor back for measurements and layout stuff, hopefully he will be able to put together an accurate price list for us. If you want, check out this slide show. Emily made it in photobucket – it even has nice captions! It would be a lot of work, but Travis said he would help, since he knows that he is the only one that could really make a difference. Thank you Travis.

hacking is wrong

•February 7, 2008 • 6 Comments

Yes. I admit, without one bit of remorse, that I logged into my wife’s account and blogged about how amazing I am. I would, however, like to clear up some of this misconceptions about this act. First and foremost, I don’t know how to hack. She claims that I hacked into her blog, which by definition or the word means “the act of gaining unauthorized access to computer systems for the purpose of stealing and corrupting data”.

So here is where it gets good. By that definition, one would think that I sat in front of her computer and uploaded worms, programs to read encrypted files, password scramblers, etc. What actually happened was this….I opened the laptop, pulled up wordpress and found her user name and password safely stored in the fields….all I had to do was click “log in”.

You are probably thinking how awful of a person I am. What you don’t know is this. Emily use to do the same thing to random friend’s myspace pages. Ask her, she will admit it. Or better yet, ask our good friend Scottie, now better known as “Scrotie” (I believe he finally changed his back, good for you Scott, good for you).

In closing, I rock!

modbook? no way…

•February 6, 2008 • 2 Comments

So I stumbled across something very interesting during my studies on Apple MacBooks. I am planning on getting one in a couple of weeks and was looking on the site macsales.com to investigate cheaper upgrades like memory and hard drive space. On that site is what they call the “modbook“. They have taken a regular MacBook and upgraded the screen and some other specs to make it a tablet pc (like the ones you can flip the screen over and use a sylus on). How freaking awesome is that? Too bad I don’t have the money.

shout out to feather sound

•February 6, 2008 • 3 Comments

I have gotten an overwhelming response from the students at Feather Sound Church. I’d like to address all these people now. Please feel free to write me on here, or email me…I really want to know what is going on in your lives and see how things play out, especially those with the tough questions. And for all the church music “snobs” out there (I use that term very loosely and definitely not in a negative manner, just for lack of a better word) the Linkin Park song we played on Sunday went over astonishingly well. 19 people got baptized that morning during the open invitation. Much love my peeps.
